Visitation for Shirley Rogers, 90, of Lenox, will be held Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025, at Cummings Family Funeral Home in Lenox, from 5 until 7 p.m. Memorials may be directed towards the family to be established in Shirley’s memory.
Shirley Ann (Woosley) Rogers was born Sept. 6, 1934, in Creston. Shirley was untied in marriage to her soulmate, Howard “Short” Rogers, Jan. 23, 1953. To this union four children were born: Sherri, Dave, Lorri and Julie.
Shirley and Short raised their family on a farm they purchased in 1958, south of Lenox on J20. They spent the next 65 years enjoying farm life.
In 1987, after Shirley had the kids raised, she used her love of fashion and Short’s knowledge of antiques and opened a storefront on Main Street in Lenox called Then and Now. Shirley enjoyed meeting and helping every customer that entered the shop, several becoming lifelong friends.
After retirement, you could find the couple enjoying an estate auction or sitting outside admiring their love of windmills, a total of nine they had assembled and displayed on the farm.
Left to cherish Shirley’s memory are her children, Dave (Sue) Rogers of Clovis, California, Lorri Glover of Prescott and Julie (Rob) Russell of Prescott; grandchildren: Skip Rogers, JaLynne (Ben) Schmaling, Keaton (Paige) Lundquist and Gracie (Kaden) Wilson; great-grandchildren: Jaxson Rogers, Grayson and Mack Schmaling and Cohen and Nora Lundquist and her beloved dog of 16 years, CeeCee.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Carl and Beulah (Brown) Clinton; her in-laws, Orville and Nellie Rogers; daughter, Sherri, in 2010 and husband, Short, in May 2024.
