Steven Miller, 69, of Orient, passed away Friday, Dec. 13, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, at the Greenfield United Methodist Church with burial following in the Greenfield Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the church following the burial. Pastor Melinda Stonebraker will officiate the service. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 18, at the Greenfield United Methodist Church. The Lamb Funeral Home in Greenfield is in charge of the professional arrangements.

Steven Lynn Miller was born May 21, 1955, the son of Alman William and Marilyn Elaine (Bolton) Miller in Sioux City. Steven was raised on the family farm in Nevinville. On Nov. 28, 1981, he was united in marriage to Ruby Hardin in the United Methodist Church in Greenfield. To this union two daughters were born, Stephanie and Sasha. They lived in Greenfield until 1983 when they moved to their home west of Orient.

Steven was a mechanic and worked for McCunn Implement, Ehrsam Implement and Schildberg’s Construction Company, retiring in 2015. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, camping, helping brothers on the family farm, spending time with his grandkids, collecting Hesston belt buckles and visiting with friends at the Bowling Alley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Ronald Hardin; grandparents; aunts; uncles; cousins and many friends.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Miller of Orient; two daughters, Stephanie Miller (Tim) of Greenfield and Sasha Miller (Tyler) of Fontanelle; four grandchildren: KayLynn, Bentley, Axel and EllieAnna; his siblings, Mark Miller of Nevinville, Max Miller (Maria) of Woodbridge, Virginia, Jon Miller (Donna) of Nevinville, Lori Breitenbucher (Chuck) of Cave Creek, Arizona, Joel Miller of Nevinville and Nancy Miller of Nevinville; mother-in-law, Rowena Hardin of Greenfield; brother-in-law, Rick Hardin of Alta; aunt, Helen Mosman of Creston; other relatives and friends.
