Larry Ray Sevier was born on Feb. 17, 1941, the son of Harold and Martha Johanna Henrietta (Schoenfeldt) Sevier in Creston. Larry grew up in the small town of Kent. He was always a hardworking man with many talents. He ventured through a variety of jobs, from farming, feed mills and co-ops to building houses and finally retiring from Bunn-O-Matic in 2013.

Larry met Shirley and they were married in 1958 and had three children. Larry trained horses to ride and pull carts. As a family they showed horses. Showing rabbits and pigeons was another one of the things he enjoyed doing. If you knew Larry very well, you would know he loved his wife and family. He always had a great story to tell and a funny joke to share. Larry spent the last few years after Shirley passed in 2015, raising goats, ducks and chickens.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Sevier; son-in-law, Todd Edwards; daughter-in-law, Robin Sevier; siblings, Hazel, Betty, Dorothy, Ruby and Jim and grandson, Nicholas Sprague.

He is survived by his son, Jerry (Teri Jo) Sevier; son, Ronald (Cyndie) Sevier; daughter, Brenda Edwards; grandchildren: Jodi Sevier, Ashley Simpson, Travis Sevier, Chelsea Sevier, Cody Whaley, Chantel Sevier, Michael Waddingham and T’Lee Jones and 13 great-grandchildren.
