Robert “Bob” Kiesling, 82, of Creston, died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, at his home in Creston. Private graveside services will be Saturday. Pastor Mary O’Riley will officiate. No visitation will be held.

Robert Dean Kiesling was born Jan. 12, 1942, to Clifford W. Kiesling and Mary Elizabeth (Hanson) Kiesling in Creston. He grew up in rural Creston, graduating from Cromwell High School in 1960. Bob was united in marriage to Vicki (Gibson) Feb. 24, 1963, at the United Methodist Church in Creston. Bob worked for Eblen Construction, worked at Cropmate, Purolator and started farming in 1976 as the third generation, while also raising angus cattle. He retired in 2002.
Bob was a member of the Cromwell United Church of Christ, a lifelong member of the Elks Lodge, 4-H member and leader and was very actively involved in their cattle program. He was also an avid hunter of upland birds and whitetail deer.
Survivors include his wife, Vicki Kiesling of Creston; daughter, Jennifer Kiesling of Creston; son, Curtis (Kathy) Kiesling of Ames; five grandchildren: Benjamin, Tyler and Joshua Rafter, Caitlyn (Dalton) Kiesling and Logan (Kara) Kiesling; two great-grandchildren, Khloe Kiesling and Carson Zeiser; three stepgrandchildren: Emily (Patrick) Gray, Matthew (Claire) Carlson and Sarah Carlson and three step-great-grandchildren: Owen and Parker Gray and Elaine Carlson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Mary Kiesling; his in-laws, Wayne and Lois Gibson; his brother, Charlie Kiesling and two brothers-in-law, Ronald and Larry Gibson.
