GayLee Toppin

GayLee Toppin, 82, of Lorimor, passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.

She was born March 8, 1942, to George and Gretchen Westby Redington in Mason City. She graduated from Mason City-Newman Catholic High School and was united in marriage to Gerald Toppin on July 25, 1964. She was a devoted housewife and helped on the farm from 1967 to 1984. She was also a seamstress for Winnebago for 20 years.

GayLee enjoyed gardening and caring for the livestock. Every day while Gerald was taking care of the livestock, she would take the boys to finish the remaining chores that needed to be done. She loved to go dancing with Gerald and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her sons, Darren (Shelly) Toppin, Mike (Kelly) Toppin and David (Samantha) Toppin; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Greg (Gabby) Redington and brother-in-law, Roger Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; her parents, George and Gretchen; a brother, Gary (Bebe) Redington and sister, Geanne Anderson.
