Maxine McCarty Lowe, 93, of Creston, died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2024, at her niece’s home in Creston. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 19, at Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Pastor Mary O’Riley will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston.

Marjorie Maxine (McCarty) Moore Lowe was born on June 1, 1931, to Flossie Marie (Alley) and Robert Eldon McCarty in Redding. Maxine graduated from Arispe High School in 1950. She began working for a local cafe and later Evans Cafe as a waitress.

Maxine was united in marriage to Merrill Moore in Creston. They settled in Creston and she began working at Creston Farm and Home as a clerk. Merrill passed away in 1965.

Later, Maxine was united in marriage to Gene Lowe in Creston. Maxine continued to work at Farm and Home until she retired in 1991. The two later divorced. Maxine worked also as a volunteer at the Southern Prairie YMCA for a number of years. Maxine was active in the Assembly of God Church in Creston.

Maxine is survived by her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Merrill; brother, Bob (Virginia) McCarty; and sister, Kathryn (Joe) King.
