Winterset

Kevin William Foutch, 65, of Winterset, passed away on Aug. 28, 2024.

Kevin William Foutch, 65, of Winterset, passed away on Aug. 28, 2024. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 28, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Creston. Zoom link provided below. A luncheon will follow the service.

Kevin was born on Oct. 8, 1958, to William and Eleanor (Barnes) Foutch in Iowa City. Kevin was the second of 10 children: first Dennis Foutch, then Kevin Foutch, Mark Foutch, Jeff Foutch, Ron Gepner, Robert Potter, Roger Potter, Rick Potter, Shelly (Potter) Johnson and Ryan Moran.

In 1980, Kevin met Kathy Kienast. Kevin saw Kathy and stopped to ask the young lady if she needed a ride while she was walking alongside the road. Fortunately, Kathy accepted. On April 10, 1981, they were married. Later, four children were born to this union: Jonathan, Jessica, Joseph and Michael.

Kevin worked at Central Paving in road construction for several years. Later he worked for Jimmy Dean in Osceola. When Jimmy Dean closed, he worked for Vanmark Equipment in Creston. Then, he worked for the BNSF Railroad as a conductor and engineer. Kevin worked on the railroad for 20 years with no incidents. Kevin retired on railroad disability in 2016 due to his health.

On July 1, 2017, Kevin confirmed his dedication and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the “Don’t Give Up” Regional Convention. He was an active member of the Winterset congregation.

Kevin loved hunting, riding motorcycles, his family and Jehovah. Kevin was known for having a big heart and big smile. He reflected his love and joy by spreading his faith with others. His memory will forever stay in our hearts until we see him again.

Kevin is survived by his mother, Ellie (Ron) Moran; his wife; Kathy; his four children: Jonathan (Jenny), Jessica, Joseph (Noel) and Michael; siblings: Jeff Foutch, Ron (Karrie) Gepner, Roger (Brenda) Potter, Rick (Kenna) Potter, Shelly (Ben) Johnson and Ryan (Crystal) Moran; sister-in-law, Amy (John) Marshall; grandchildren: Sheona (Anthony), Eian (Emma), Ethan, Leilynd and Keidan; great-grandchildren, Ellowin and Allister; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Preceding Kevin in death is his father, William Foutch; brothers: Robert Potter, Mark Foutch and Dennis (3 months) and father- and mother-in-law, Maynard and Eleanor Kienast.

Goodnight, Dad. We love you and we will see you tomorrow!
