Phyllis Ann Wallace, 86, of Creston, died Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Creston Specialty Care. Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 28, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston. Father Patrick Amedeka will officiate. Services will be livestreamed at a link found under her obituary. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Creston. Open visitation will be 2-7 p.m., with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m, Thursday, at Powers Funeral Home.

Phyllis Ann Wallace was born Feb. 7, 1938, to Charles Floyd Woody and Audrey (Grey) Woody in Shoals, Indiana. She worked at a bus stop while attending school in junior and senior high. She graduated from Shoals High School and attended SWCC in Creston.
She was united in marriage to Joseph Edward Wallace on Sept. 27, 1958, in Loogootee, Indiana. They lived in Chicago, Illinois, Kannapolis, North Carolina, and later settled in Creston, where they still lived. Phyllis was a bank employee, worked for an accounting firm, a board member of Vanmark Corporation and was also a homemaker.
Phyllis was a longtime member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Creston and Catholic Ladies Altar Society.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Joseph Edward Wallace of Creston; three sons, Christopher Anthony Wallace, Patrick Ethan Wallace and Timothy Erin Wallace, all of Creston; two grandchildren, Dakota Mae Wallace and Cormac Edward Wallace and a host of friends.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Charles Woody Jr. and Jerry Dale Woody and two sisters, Betty Frances Woody and Marie Woody.
