Eric Todd Rowland, 55, of Creston, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, at his home in Creston.

Eric “Todd” Rowland, 55, of Creston, died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024, at his home in Creston. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Lorimor First Church of God in Lorimor. Pastor Ben Turner will officiate. His burial will be in the Lorimor Cemetery. Open visitation will be from 2-7 p.m., with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

Eric Todd Rowland was born May 25, 1968, the son of George Franklin Rowland and Donna Lou (Woods) Rowland in Lincoln, Nebraska. Todd attended and graduated from East Union Schools in 1986.

On May 25, 1991, he was united in marriage to Catherine Scadden at the Fairview Church south of Stuart. From this union came two children, Zachary and Shannon. They settled in Lorimor where he was employed for Interstate Electric. Todd and Catherine later divorced.

In 2015, Todd moved to Osceola where he worked a variety of jobs including the Osceola Fire Department, driving the school bus for Clarke Community Schools and groundskeeper for Maple Hill Cemetery. In 2019, he settled in Creston and worked as a concrete mixer truck driver for Concrete Supply Inc.

Todd was a member of the First Church of God in Lorimor and the Lorimor Volunteer Fire Department, serving for 30 years.

Todd is survived by his children, Zachary (Karissa) Rowland of Murray and Shannon Rowland of Macksburg; his brother, Scott (Deanne) Rowland of Des Moines; his two sisters, Deana Courtney of Creston and Cristi (Bruce) Hoakison of Kent; his five grandchildren: Ella, Beau, George, Rebel and Penelope; his nieces and nephews: Bryce, Tanner and Grace Rowland, Kati Eckstein and Chris, Drew and Logan Hoakison; a great-nephew, Ryder along with his faithful furry companion, Roxy.

Todd was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
