A Memorial Celebration of Life Visitation for Jeff Wood, 71, of Lenox, who passed away Friday, Aug. 25, 2023, at the Lenox Care Center, will be held 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at the St. Patrick Catholic Church Parrish Center. Interment will be held at North Fairview Cemetery in Lenox at a later date.

Jeffrey Dean Wood was born Jan. 20, 1952, the son of Howard Wood and Mable (Gaule) Wood in Clearfield. He grew up attending school in Clearfield, graduating with the class of 1970. While in school he was active in baseball and football along with being a paper boy and working at E & E Grocery.
On April 8, 1972, he was united in marriage to Cathy Votava at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lenox. The couple were blessed with the birth of two children: son, Brian and daughter, Kim.
The couple made their home in Clearfield where Jeff worked for Heimke Construction putting up grain bins and at Taygold Cooperative for 37 years until his retirement. He then worked a few years at Sunrise Apartments in Lenox.
He enjoyed coaching little league and baseball in both Lenox and Clearfield while his children were growing up. He was an avid fisherman who also enjoyed gardening and chasing his investments at the casinos. Together they enjoyed attending their grandson’s games. Jeff enjoyed visiting as he sat outside his home and talking on the phone to family and friends.
Left to cherish Jeff’s memory is his loving wife of 51 years, Cathy (Votava) Wood of Lenox; his children, Brian (Jen) Wood of Lenox and Kim Wood of Lenox; one grandson, Cullen Wood also of Lenox; seven brothers and sisters: Jim (Kathy) Wood of Holt Summit, Missouri; Mary Jo Mains of Clearfield; Linda (Al) Brammer of Clearfield; John Wood of Altoona, Lori (Terry) Danielson of Creston and Brad Wood; a sister-in-law, Lynne Maben of Clearfield; along with many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends he loved very much.
Preceding Jeff in death are his parents, Howard and Mable Wood; his father-in-law, Jim Votava and a brother, Jerry.
We will forever hold our memories of Jeff in our hearts. May he be at peace in God’s loving care.
