Bonnie Leigh Roland, daughter of John and Loreen (Carlson) Roland, was born July 23, 1941, in Creston. In 1944, John lost his life serving the U.S. Army in World War II. Loreen later married Robert Roland, who raised Bonnie. Bonnie attended Creston schools where she made many lifelong friends and graduated with the class of 1959. She attended Parsons College in Fairfield and the University of Iowa before returning to Creston where she was a sales associate at Iowa Southern Utilities.

On March 22, 1964, Bonnie married William Cornick. They lived in Creston for the remainder of her life, where they raised three daughters and three precious schnauzer puppies. Bonnie enjoyed time with friends, jazz concerts and romantic comedies. She loved the 4th of July festivities and was an amazing chef and baker. But, more than anything, she loved watching her grandchildren grow up and would brag about them to anyone who would listen.

Bonnie is survived by Bill, her husband of 59 years; three daughters: Suzanne Muntz (Zane), Lindsay Cornick (Nathan Keller), Allison Gilbreaith (Bryan); six grandchildren: Cruz Muntz, Zander Muntz, Dezmond Muntz, Sabrina Keller, Taylor Gilbreaith and Brailey Gilbreaith; sister Elizabeth Roland; brother Ralph Roland (Anna); sisters-in-law Sandra McQuillen and Susan Cornick as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, cherished friends and neighbors.

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Peggy O’Neill and Annie Roland, brother Bob Roland, brothers-in-law Dale O’Neill, Don McQuillen and Craig Cornick.
