Pauline Allen, 108, of Council Bluffs, formerly of Creston, died Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in Council Bluffs. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 18 at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Charles Spindler will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston.

Pauline Faye Allen was born Oct. 30, 1914, the daughter of Hallie Ellsworth and Edith Elizabeth (Downing) Forquer, in Knox County, Missouri. She graduated from the Kirksville High School in Kirksville, Missouri, and later attended two years at Northeast Missouri State Teachers College.
On June 9, 1946, Pauline was united in marriage to Lyle William Allen in Kirksville. They settled in Kirksville, where she variously worked as a church secretary, bookkeeper for a variety store, creamery worker, furniture store clerk, fabric store clerk and a keypunch operator.
In 1998, Pauline moved to Creston and a few years later moved to Council Bluffs. In Pauline’s spare time she was a Girl Scout leader, Sunday School teacher and a member of the First Christian Disciples of Christ Churches in Creston and Kirksville.
Survivors include her daughter Patricia Allen of Council Bluffs.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband Lyle in 2009; two sisters, Reba A. Markey and Cleo A. Sees and four brothers: Allen M. Forquer, Joseph D. Forquer, Paul E. Forquer and Howard H. Forquer.
