Janis Bullock, 83, of Creston, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2022, at Greater Regional Health in Creston. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston, 601 New York Avenue. Pastor Al Rusk will officiate. Family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston.

Janis Loyce Bullock, daughter of W.H. “Dick” Pottinger and Charlesa Mary (Alpaugh) Pottinger, was born Dec. 5, 1938, in rural Taylor County, Iowa. She graduated from Creston High School in 1957.
On June 16, 1957, Janis was united in marriage to Keith Earl Bullock at United Methodist Church in Creston. They settled on a farm in southeast Union County, where she worked as a farmwife. In 1963 Janis and her family moved to a farm near Shannon City where she continued to work as a farmwife and active mother. She loved planting her flowers in her yard.
She was a regular attendee of the Tuesday Club and a supporter of Shannon City Community Church functions. In 2017, following retirement she moved to Creston and continued to work in her yard and flower beds earning the yard of the week honor.
Survivors include her husband Keith Bullock of Creston; two daughters, Lesa (Jim) Conard of Diagonal and Julie (Phil) Hower of Wichita, Kansas; four grandchildren: J.D. Conard of Lenox, Randi Heckman of Elm Creek, Nebraska, Bo Geidel of Orient and Logan Hower of Wichita and five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Mailey, Emerson, Hazely and Quinn.
Janis was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Don (Betty) Pottinger, a sister Katherine Pottinger and two nieces Connie Rundlett and Karla Nowicki.
