Linda Klug, 77, of Creston, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, at Creston Specialty Care in Creston. Celebration of Life services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Avenue in Creston. Pastor Jodi Rushing will officiate. The service will be live streamed. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Open visitation, with family receiving friends will be 12-2 p.m. Saturday, before service time, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

MaLinda Joe “Linda” Farless, was born May 16, 1945, in Gainesville, Missouri, to Sam and Maude (Chatham) Farless. She grew up in Gainesville, and graduated from Gainesville High School in 1967.

On Dec. 31, 1974, she was united in marriage to Leon “Lee” Francis Klug at Creston United Methodist Church in Creston. They settled in Creston and Linda worked for Kings Cafe and Williams Cafe, was a homecare provider for the elderly and worked at the Purolator in Creston. In 1978, Linda went to work at GITS Mfg. in Creston, where she worked for over 30 years as plant supervisor. Linda was a member of the Creston United Methodist Church and a longtime member of the Creston Eagle’s Lodge Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons, Greg (Melody) Abbott of Creston and Chris (Amanda) Klug of Grimes; four grandchildren: Cassie (Kaleb) Bissell, Samantha Abbott, Aubree Klug and Caden Klug; two great-granddaughters, Veda Jo Bissel and Iyla Mae Bissell; three sisters, Betty Smith of Melbourne, Florida, Joan Hodges, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Barbara (Vernon) James, of Gainesville; three brothers in-law, Keith (Mary) Klug of Des Moines, Sidney (Jane) Klug of Patterson and Lyle (Mikey) Klug of Lacona and sister in-law, Vicki Cameron of Winterset; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon “Lee” Klug in 2019, four brothers: Pete, Rass, Jake and Sam Farless and two sisters, Berthena Hill and Ruth Hogan.
