Debra J. Bauer

Debra Bauer, 66 of Creston, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25 at Pearson Family Funeral Service & Cremation Center in Creston. Mr. Rob Loe will be officiating. Debra will be laid to rest in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Open visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at the funeral home.

Debra Jo Bauer was born in Creston, Iowa on Aug. 10, 1956, the daughter of Arlene Louise Richards. Debbie was raised and educated in Creston, graduating from Creston High School with the class of 1976. Following graduation, Debbie worked various places but found her niche in caring for disabled men and women. The last 21 years, Debbie has been a faithful employee at Imagine the Possibilities where she was part of the direct support staff.

Debra married Lyle Dean Bauer in Creston on Oct. 1, 1994. Debbie had a special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding Debra in death were her mother, Arlene; grandparents, Arlo and Lulu Richards; sister, Brenda Shade; brother-in-law, Michael Shade and niece, Miranda Taylor.

Debra is survived by her husband, Lyle Bauer of Creston; sister, Pamela (Jerry) Hall of Creston; brothers: Mark Paxson of Ocoee, Florida, Danny Scott of Afton and Luke Paxson of Creston; and two stepsons: Joseph Pingree of Atlanta, Georgia, and Brodie Pingree of Creston.
