Matthew W. Erickson

Matt Erickson, 40, of Lorimor, died Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2022, at the family farm near Lorimor. A graveside celebration of life service will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30 at Lorimor Cemetery. Services will be live streamed. Pastor Mary O’Riley will officiate. Visitation will be held 2 - 8 p.m. with family present 5 - 8 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

Matthew Wayne Erickson was born April 6, 1982, son of Timothy Wayne and Cheryl Jean (Wheeldon) Erickson in Creston. He graduated from East Union High School with the class of 2000.

Matt was a lifelong resident of Lorimor where he lived and worked on his family farm. On June 20, 2010, Matt was united in marriage to Debra Kay Miller in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Matt is survived by his wife, Debra Erickson of Lorimor; his parents, Tim and Cheryl Erickson of Lorimor; two sisters, Candice (Jeremy) Kerrigan of Afton and Lindsay (Carl) Eklund of Shannon City and five nieces and nephews: Tate and Chloe Kerrigan and Cale, Ivy and Coy Eklund.

Matthew is preceded in death by his grandparents: Mary Lou and Richard Wheeldon and Alma and Wayne Erickson.
