Rebecca L. Rutledge

Rebecca “Becky” Lee Rutledge, daughter of Lee and Leta (Kaylar) Hill, born Jan. 23, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa, and passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2022, surrounded by family at EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston at 66 years of age.

Becky grew up in Waterloo, where she attended elementary school. As a young girl, her family moved to the Lorimor area and she graduated from East Union High School.  Becky was united in marriage to Richard Allen Rutledge on Aug. 30, 1974, in Afton. They had lived in Afton, Thayer and Arispe before moving to Lorimor 34 years ago.  Becky was a very loving, caring wife and mother who will be greatly missed.

Becky enjoyed learning about her family by studying her genealogy. She enjoyed sewing and keeping up with friends and family through Facebook. Becky loved her family and friends and enjoyed any time she was able to get together.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Leta Hill and her birth mother, Colleen Hackett.

Becky leaves to cherish her memory; husband, Richard Rutledge of Lorimor; daughter, JoAnne (AJ) Halamar of Lorimor; sisters, Sandy Schyler, Barbara Pertzborn and DeDee Minengo; brothers, Rocky Caldwell, Frank Caldwell, Kelly Hacket and JD Hacket and many other relatives and friends.

Open visitiation will be Friday, May 20, beginning at 10 a.m. with family greeting friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola with Pastor Chuck DeVos officiating. Interment will follow in Beulah Cemetery near Thayer, Iowa
