She went to school at East Union School in Afton, Iowa, and Mayo High School in Rochester, Minnesota. She was raised with her two brothers, Steve and Scott and later joined in family with Marty, Mitchell, and Megan. After high school, she worked in the nursing field, finalizing her tenure at Urbandale Healthcare Facility. She was blessed with three children; Asa, Brice and Jasmine.

As a child, Julie grew up with the Iowa State Fair, camping with family and taking in all that the fair had to offer. She looked forward to having deep fried Twinkies. She was a fan of romance novels, horror movies and getting her nails and toes done. She also liked to collect sugar skulls.

Julie had an annual tradition of watching ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ and ‘The Sound of Music’. She loved Christmas and had an extensive collection of snowmen.

For those who knew Julie, she had a giving heart and loved her children and grandchildren. Julie had a wicked sense of humor. She loved to stick her feet in the warm sands of Florida with family.

Julie was proceeded in death by mother Peggy (Shiflett) Black, father Max Denton and both sets of grandparents.

Julie is survived by Mary Denton; children, Asa (Miah) Denton, Brice Maxwell and Jasmine Williams, along with her much loved grandchildren and numerous other family and friends.
