Cheryl L. Davis was born Nov. 9, 1944, in Moline, Illinois, to Joseph Ward Healey and Beryl Eunice (Beaumont) Healey. After graduating from Creston High School in 1962 Cheri was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Jack Davis, on Aug. 11, 1962. Cheri and Jack then lived in Creston for two years before moving to Des Moines. Cheri worked at Iowa Des Moines National Bank while Jack attended Drake. In 1966 they moved to Sac City where they lived for six years, completing their family of three girls: Suzie, Debbie and Angie. They moved their family back to Creston in 1972. In 1974 Cheri began her work in accounting at M&M Motors, and Jack began his venture with M&M in 1975. In 1980 they purchased the dealership, beginning the 47 year legacy at the “corner of savings”.

Cheri was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Creston, enjoying active involvement and generous giving. She loved playing bridge, belonging to many card clubs with her cherished circle of friends. She bowled for many years, was an avid reader and led the fan club for every activity in which her children and grandchildren participated.

Cheri and Jack were always thrilled to spend time together dancing, going on trips and greeting their valued customers together on a daily basis. She was her best self when spending time with her most treasured love, Jack, her husband of 60 years.

Cheri is survived by her husband, Jack Davis of Creston; three daughters, Suzanne (Todd) Stofferahn of Creston, Deborah (Joel) Christy of Coloma, Michigan, Angela Davis of Fresno, California; her brother, Tom (Melinda) Healey of Bowling Green, Kentucky; nephew, Martin Healey of San Diego, California; her sister-in-law, Marilyn (Bob) Carl of Sun City West, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Zachary (Piya) Stofferahn of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Gabriel (Gretchen) Stofferahn of Orono, Minnesota, Jaimie (Matt) Williamson of Grimes, Iowa, Davis (Ben) Christy, of Des Moines, Iowa, Taryn (Menno) Christy of Springfield, Illinois, Deon Austin of Fresno, California, and Amelie Davis of Fresno, California; six great-grandchildren, Everleigh and Elowyn Stofferahn, Emma, Ava and Jack Williamson and Sahana Stofferahn.

Cheri was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Beryl Healey, her mother in-law, Ella Mikkelsen Davis, and two sisters-in-law, Janet Larkins, and Sherry Neisemier. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Greater Regional Medical Center for the wonderful medical care and kindness given to Cheri throughout the many years of her illnesses. They would also like to thank the staff of Creston Specialty Care for their attentiveness and compassion.
