James Wolfe

Jim Wolfe, 92 of Creston, Iowa, entered eternal rest Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, at Creston Specialty Care.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. 

Visitation is open to the public 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday at Pearson Family Funeral Service and Cremation Center.  Family will receive friends 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Wednesday and the Rosary will be said at 7:15 p.m.  Jim will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Creston.  Memorial contributions may be directed to Calvary Cemetery.  Memories and condolences may be shared at www.pearsonfuneralhomes.com.

James Louis Wolfe was born Nov. 14, 1929, in Creston, Iowa, the son of William Leo and Veronica Mary (Geis) Wolfe.  Jim was born on the family farm where he has lived most of his life.  He was raised and educated in Creston, graduating from Creston High School with the Class of 1947.  Jim was united in marriage to Patricia Louise Hausz in Creston on June 21, 1949.  Four children were born to bless this union:  Mike, John, Bob and Cathy.  Jim began farming at an early age and continued farming his whole life.  Jim’s passion in life was raising and feeding his cattle.

During his life, Jim was a long-time member of the Elks Lodge, Knights of Columbus and the Union County Cattleman’s Association.  Jim was very proud to have been awarded the Union County Cattleman of the Year.  He also served on the Advisory Council for Farm Credit for many years.

Preceding Jim in death was his wife, Patricia in 2020; his sister, JoAnn Albrecht; two granddaughters:  Jennifer Wolfe and Holly Obermeier and his parents.

Left to cherish his memory are his children:  Mike (Rita) Wolfe of Creston, John (Lisa) Wolfe of Creston, Bob (Lori) Wolfe of Roseville, CA and Cathy (Jim) Obermeier of Ankeny, Iowa; 11 grandchildren:  Jamie (Rebecca) Wolfe, Dawn (Chris) Loudon, Jason (Erica) Wolfe, Jacob Wolfe (fiance’ Charley Parcher), Jay Wolfe (significant other, Taylor Wagner), Robert (Christa) Wolfe, Nick (Kim) Wolfe, Cristin Larsen, Mark (Stacey) Larsen, Daniel (Tabatha) Larsen and Justin Landrum;  14 great-grandchildren:  Courtney, Mason, Jameson, Matthew, Caleb, Logan, Finley, Caden, Caleigh, Sebastian, McKenna, Austin, Auna and Jesse; and his cousins:  John Geis and Mary Dick.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
