Marlene Lacy

Marlene Lacy, 74, of Creston, passed away peacefully Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022. She was born March 25, 1947, in Indianola, Iowa, to William and Velda Graham.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Dale Graham. Marlene is survived by her daughter and husband Wendy and Roger Estey, daughter Kim Gorrell, son and partner Shawn Gorrell and Stephanie Zech, granddaughter Sarah York, and her two cats Marissa and Loki.

After retiring from a career in office management and accounting, Marlene focused her boundless energy on volunteering at nursing homes and hospice to help others. Her greatest joys were fishing and traveling with Wendy and Roger, having lunch with friends, playing with her cats, and attending church. She loved people and never met a stranger, just friends she hadn’t spoken to yet.

Please join us in celebrating her life Thursday morning Jan. 27, 2022, between 1 p.m. with a light meal to follow at Abundant Life Family Church, which is located at 500 S. Oak St, Creston, Iowa.
