Angela Engleka, 73, of Creston, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston. Celebration of Life services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 17, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery of Creston. Pastor Mary O’Riley will officiate.

Services will be livestreamed under events at powersfh.com. Open visitation will be 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home, with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston. Online condolences may be made at www.powersfh.com.

Angela Jo (Hook) Engleka, was born Sept. 13, 1948, in Creston, to Charles Hook and Joy (Franklin) Hook. In 1967, Angie graduated from Creston High School.

After graduation, Angie started working at Creston Medical Clinic in numerous clerical positions through the years, retiring after 42 years of service in 2012.

In 1967, Angie was united in marriage to Tom Rouh. To this union, a son Courtney was born in 1970 and a daughter, Shannon in 1974. Angie and Tom later divorced.

In February 1985, Angie was united in marriage to Roy Fredrick Engleka in Creston. Roy was the love of her life as were her children, Courtney and Shannon and grandchildren; Molly Jo, Elizabeth Rouh and Owen Gandee.

Survivors include her son, Courtney Rouh of Emmetsburg; a daughter, Shannon (Charlie) Abell of Orient; three grandchildren: Molly and Elizabeth Rouh of Emmetsburg and Owen Gandee of Orient; her sister, Lisa (John) Shaw of Creston; her brother, Tracy (Jan) Hook of Urbandale; three sisters in-law: Teresa Hook of Marshfield, Wisc., Sandee Hook of Carlsbad, Calif., Kay (Huey) Rowen of Sheridan, Mo.; her sister-in-law, Judy Engleka of Visalia, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Angie was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Floyd and Nellie Franklin; parents, Charlie and Joy Hook; husband, Roy Engleka, Nov. 14, 2021; her brothers, Lanny and Scott Hook; brother in-law, Merle Engleka; her mother in-law, Doris Engleka.
