Raymond Eugene Cochran, 62, was born Dec. 14, 1958, and passed from this life, Saturday, Nov. 6, 2021.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021, at Crest Baptist Church, 1211 N. Poplar St., in Creston.
Ray was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, but was raised in Creston, the son of Norman and Mary Cochran, where he was raised with his four siblings.
As a child, Ray loved to play baseball, and at the young age of sixteen, Ray was a quickly self-taught and natural carpenter and construction worker. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do with his hands and he dedicated his time to hard work.
Together, Ray and his brother Steve traveled for work throughout the beginning of his life and he met his wife of 33 years, Lori. Ray and Lori married in Creston, July 23, 1988, at Crest Baptist Church and started a life together. They raised their three children in the home on Vine Street, that became the family home for generations to come.
Ray was a very generous, loving man and father to his family. He enjoyed home projects, his pets, his favorite recliner and spending time on the lake fishing and camping with Lori and the grandchildren.
Ray is survived by his mother, Mary Cochran, wife, Lori Cochran; daughters, Mindy (Woody) Darland, Melissa (Jason) Rutherford; son, Matt Shackelford; grandchildren: Haley (Kendall) Antle, Cammy Rutherford, Hannah Darland, Cameron Rutherford and Felicity Reed; great-grandchildren, Lennon and Nolan Jones; siblings: Norma (Greg) Tillery, Steve Cochran, Karen (Tom) Thorsbakken and Cheryl (Jerry) Bird; multiple nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by father, Norman Eugene Cochran. He will be deeply missed and abundantly cherished by many loved ones and friends.
