Jacqueline “Jackie” Bonus, 83, of Creston, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at her home. A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave. in Creston. Pastor Jim Morris will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, south of Creston.
Visitation with family receiving friends will be 10 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be established.

Jacqueline June Bonus was born Nov. 23, 1937, in Creston, to Malcolm Elbridge Hodge and Mary Maxine (Walker) Hodge. She graduated from Creston High School in 1955.
On July 8, 1957, Jackie was united in marriage to Francis Lee Bonus in Creston and they moved to Great Bend, Kansas where their three children; Kimberly Lynn, Kally Lee and Matthew Edward were born. The family returned to Creston in 1971 to farm.
Francis and Jackie were married 55 years before Francis’s death in 2013. Jackie was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Creston and the Old Tyme Power Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Kally (Gale) Johnston of Greenfield; her son, Matthew (Diana) Bonus of Adel; eight grandchildren: Ben (Angelique) Johnston of Adel, Brooke (Jackson) Bissell of Massena, Madelyn Bonus of Winterset, Samuel (Lexee) Bonus of Waukee, Joseph and Garrett Bonus, both of Adel, and Mark and Brent (Krista) Romesburg of Trenton, Missouri; nine great-grandchildren; Audrey and Cora Johnston of Adel, Lane Johnston of Earlham, Beckett and Jayden Bissell of Massena, Austin Romesburg of Trenton, Missouri, Hayden Romesburg of Greenfield and Weston and Racelyn Romesburg of Trenton, Missouri; a brother, Robert (Becky) Hodge of Logan; a sister, Linda McIntyre of Boone; sisters-in-law, Judy Hodge, Joan Chubick and Rachel (Jim) Wardlow of Creston; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Elmo and Mildred Bonus; her husband, Francis Bonus; a daughter, Kimberly Romesburg; grandsons, Adam Romesburg and Courtney Johnston; and brother, Bruce Hodge; brothers-in-law, Tim McIntyre and Wilbur Chubick; and niece, Angela Hodge.
