Steven A. White, 75, of Creston, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2021, at EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston. Celebration of Life services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Mary O’Riley will officiate. Service will also be livestreamed on Powers Funeral Home website.
Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, south of Creston. Full military honors will be provided by Theodore J. Martens Creston VFW Post No. 1797. Open visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston.

Steven Allen White was born Nov. 1, 1945, a son to Donald Lee White and Velma Louise (McFee) White. He was educated in Creston Community Schools and was a graduate of Creston High School with the class of 1964.
Following his graduation, Steven enlisted with the U.S. Air Force. He served his country proudly for four years and was honorably discharged July 29, 1968, and returned to Creston.
In 1973, Steven was united in marriage to Jane White in Creston. They were blessed with two children: Brad and J.J.
Steven and Jane divorced in 1985. Steven worked at Cordell Construction and Rhine Auto Body for a short time then began his career at Southwestern Community College. He held various positions while at SWCC, including dorm manager and transportation specialist. After 38 years, Steven retired. In his spare time, he worked at Side Tracked Bar and his classic Chevrolet Car collection.
Steven was a member at the Eagles Lodge in Creston and a former Elks member.
Left to cherish his memory is his companion of 28 years, Becky Stibbs; two children, Brad White of Clarinda and J.J. White of Creston; grandson Keaton Allen White; Becky’s children, Angie (Rob) Allen of Charlotteville, Va., Bill Stibbs of Lacona, Ia. and Matt Stibbs of Issaquah, Wash.; brother Richard “Perk” White of Colorado; sister Patty (Marvin) Crouse of Urbandale; granddog, Milo and Steven’s cat, Timmy Jo; former wife and friend Jane White; along with many extended relatives and a host of friends.
Steven was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Francis White and Frank White.
