Robert ‘Bob’ Dean McGinnis, 37, of Bono, Arkansas, formerly of the Creston/Orient areas, died suddenly Thursday, Aug. 26, 2021, at his home in Bono, Arkansas.

Celebration of Life memorial services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Mary O’Riley will officiate the service. Burial will be held privately at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Afton.

Flag presentation will be provided by Theodore J. Marten’s Creston VFW Post #1797. Memorials are to be determined. Online condolences may be made at www.powersfh.com.

Robert ‘Bob’ McGinnis, son of Marvin Dean McGinnis and Cecilia Kay (Beaman) McGinnis, was born on December 3, 1983, in Creston. He graduated from Orient-Macksburg High School with the class of 2002.

Following his graduation, Bob enlisted with the U.S. Army completing his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He was then stationed in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Bob was united in marriage to Jamie Petero in 2004, in Bono, Arkansas. He then proudly served two tours in Iraq as a soldier with the military police. Bob was honorably discharged.

Bob is survived by his wife, Jamie of Bono, Arkansas; stepson, David McAndrew of Jonesboro, Ark.; parents, Marvin and Cecilia McGinnis of Creston; grandmother, Linda Liken McGinnis of Creston; aunt, Sherry (Dennis) Rectenbaugh of Orient; uncle, Gary (Roxie) Beaman of Council Bluffs; along with numerous cousins and extended relatives.

Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine McGinnis; grandfather, Dale McGinnis; grandparents, Cecil and Effie Beaman and his mother and father-in-law, Joe and Judy Petero.
