Funeral Celebration of Life Services for Becky Nelson, age 72, of Clearfield, who passed away Wednesday at Greater Regional Medical Center will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Clearfield Christian Church. Visitation will be held at the Clearfield Christian Church on Friday from 4 to 7 with the family greeting friends from 5 to 7. Interment will be held at the Clearfield Cemetery in Clearfield. Memorials may be given in Becky’s name. Memories may be shared with the family at www.ritchiefuneralhome.com under Obituaries. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Lenox.
Rebecca “Becky” Ann (Kidd) Nelson was born Dec. 6, 1948, at the family home in Arbor, Missouri, the daughter of James Kidd and Rita (Hitt) Kidd. She grew up attending school in Delta, Missouri, graduating with the Class of 1967.
After graduation, Becky worked as a secretary for the FBI. On April 4, 1970, she was united in marriage to Harold Nelson in Arbor, Missouri. The couple made their home near Clearfield and were blessed with the birth of three children: Brian, Allison and Clayton.
Becky enjoyed living on the family farm, working alongside her husband and raising her children. She enjoyed her flower gardens, also her large vegetable garden, canning the produce for enjoyment throughout the year.
She was a long-time member of the Clearfield Christian Church where she played the piano and sang for over 40 years. She was involved in many committees at the church. Watching her children grow, attending their school activities and eventually enjoying her 11 grandchildren and their activities were the absolute joy of her life.
Left to cherish the memories of a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother is her loving husband of 51 years, Harold Nelson of Clearfield; three children, Brian Nelson and wife Susan of Blockton, Allison Angle and husband Aaron of Blakesburg, Clay Nelson and Angie Jenkins of Lenox; 11 grandchildren: Austin Angle, Cameron Nelson, Cedric Nelson, Courtney Nelson, Alan Angle, Cassidy Nelson, Colby Nelson, Trenidy Shimer, Dawson Jenkins, Kaylee Jenkins and Brenna Nelson; her mother, Rita Kidd of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; a brother, Kenneth Kidd and wife Jamie of Arbor, Missouri; along with many other family members and friends.
Preceding Becky in death is her father, James Kidd.
We will forever hold the precious memory of Becky in our hearts.
May she be at peace in God’s loving care.
