Marian Horn, 83, of Orient, died Saturday, July 10, 2021, at her home. A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Tom Boomershine will officiate the service. Burial will be held at a later date at Moon Cemetery in rural Macksburg. Services will not be livestreamed.
Open visitation with family receiving friends will be 10 a.m. prior to the service Saturday at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Memorial are suggested to her family. Online condolences can be made at www.powersfh.com.
Marian Kay Horn, daughter of Thomas John Henry and Bernice (Lane) Henry, was born Sept. 16, 1937, in Macksburg. She was educated in Macksburg schools and later graduated.
On May 31, 1957, Marian was united in marriage to LeRoy Claus Horn in Macksburg. They made their home in the Orient area. Marian worked at Greater Regional Health for 30 years in the purchasing department. She enjoyed to craft, crochet, as well as play cards. She collected chickens and most of all, enjoyed spending time with her family.
Marian was member of the Orient Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughter Patricia Savage of Orient; son Glen Horn of Orient; five grandchildren: Ashley Horn of Des Moines, Tyler Horn of Des Moines, Chris Savage of Omaha, Amy Hammes of Sigourney and Kali Young of Creston; 10 great-grandchildren; along with other extended relatives and a host of friends.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband LeRoy in 2008, her son Ronald in 2020 and an infant great-grandson Ty Jackson Savage.
