Donald Wambold

Donald LeRoy Wambold, 85, of Fontanelle, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021. He was laid to rest in the Fontanelle Cemetery, July 15, 2021, where a Celebration of Life was held for the family followed by lunch at the Methodist Church in Fontanelle.

For most of Don’s life he had a trucking career. Don enjoyed the love of his family and grandchildren, horses and was especially fond of his dog, Titus.

Don is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Sherry Kilgore of Winterset, sons Terry Wambold (Cindy) of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Tim Wambold (Judy) of Mount Ayr and Todd Wambold (Marla) of Oklahoma City; two brothers Larry Wambold (Connie) of Iowa City and Rex Wambold (Darlis) of Van Meter; sisters Kathy Tyler of Norwalk, Sue Allard (Dave) of Stanhope and Jeri Bryeton of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Elbert Wambold; brother Russel Wambold; three sisters: Deloris Dunkerson, Joan Wallace, Karen Fry; two great-grandsons Raif Coffman and Bentley Helton.
