Lawrence “Larry” Davis, 79, of Creston died Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at his home in Creston. Memorial services will be held at a later date by his family in Missouri. Online condolences can be given at www.powersfh.com.
Lawrence Martin Davis, son of Ernest Eugene and Wilda Marie (Stogsdill) Davis, was born Dec. 19, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois.
Lawrence enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country for 29 months in Germany.
Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Larry was united in marriage to Shirley Jean Baker June 5, 1963, in Ellington, Missouri. They were blessed with four children: Belinda, Jeanna, Larry and Nicole. Larry was a union carpenter and worked all around the St. Louis area until they moved to St. Peters, Missouri. They moved to Creston in 2006.
Larry is survived by his wife Shirley; children: Belinda (Jeff) LaFrance of Ocean Spring, Mississippi, Jeanna (Eric) Eklund of Afton, Larry (Shay) Davis of Nixa, Missouri and Nicole (Ronnie) Shanley of Flowery Branch, Georgia; grandchildren: Rachel (Andrew) Breedlove, Aaron (Beth) LaFrance, Logan Davis, Lindsey (Josh) Brobst, Jerod Eklund, Jacy (Cazlyn) Eklund, Megan Davis, Jayneva Davis, Marek Davis, Xyah Ra, Aman Rawlings, Jonathon Rascher, Tyler Rascher and Trevor Besancenez; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Ron Davis of Ellington, Missouri; sisters: Pat Mineer of Florida, Sandy (Bill) Merna of Indiana and Lenna Fredrickson of Council Bluffs; sisters-in-law: Dee Davis of Georgia, Joan (Bob) Bewley of Missouri, Kathy (Johnny) Monger of Mo., Missy (Scott) Jaques of Mo. and Betsy (Wayne) Swyres of Mo.; brothers-in-law, Edward (Brenda) Baker of Mo. and Sam (Pam) Baker of Missouri.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Paul Davis and Chuckie Davis, sisters-in-law Margaret Davis and Doris Davis and brothers-in-law Harry Fredrickson and Patrick Baker.
