Jamie Luther, 45, of Ankeny died Thursday, June 17, 2021, at Mercy One Medical Center in Des Moines. Celebration of Life memorial services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Mary O’Riley will officiate. Open visitation with family receiving friends will be prior to the service from 1 to 3 p.m.

James Keith Luther Jr., son of James Keith Luther and Margo (Abell), was born March 15, 1976, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from East Union High School with the Class of 1995 and furthered his education at Southwestern Community College. He completed his associates degrees in structural steel detailing, drafting and business management.
Jamie was united in marriage to Laura Beth Brown, July 2, 2005, in Creston. To this union, two children were born: Ella Ann and Gavin James. They moved to Ankeny following their marriage where Jamie worked in a variety of jobs over the years allowing him to use his creativity and his gifted hands as a CAD drafter, fire alarm technician and small contractor.
In his free time, Jamie enjoyed watching his children participate in numerous athletic events; deer hunting, tinkering in his garage, and his time with his car club, building model cars and entering his work in a variety of shows.
Jamie is survived by his wife Laura; two children Ella and Gavin; mother Margo Davenport of Creston; father Jim (Marcela) Luther of Creston; sister Crystal Still of Creston; father- and mother-in-law Ray and Jane Brown of Creston; sister-in-law Angie (Chad) Williams of North Liberty; nephews: Bryce, Austin and Logan Still and Chase Williams; nieces Alexis Still and Aleah Williams; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
Jamie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Glen and Virginia Luther, Peggy and Chester Abell and grandparents-in-law Lynn and Helen Stickler and Ruby and Riley Jack Brown.
