Marie Burmeister

Marie Burmeister, 75, of Mount Ayr passed away Saturday, May 15, 2021, in Mount Ayr. Open visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2021 at United Baptist Presbyterian Church.

Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in Marie’s name for cancer and liver transplant research. Online condolences may be left at www.armstrongfh.com.

Marie, daughter of Marion and Ruth (Hunt) Euritt, was born March 25, 1946, in Creston. Marie graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1964. She graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 1968. Marie taught mathematics and Spanish.

Marie married Philip Burmeister Feb. 1, 1970, at First Baptist Church in Mount Ayr.

Survivors include her husband, Philip Burmeister of Mount Ayr; two sons: Jeffrey (Sonya) Burmeister and Jeremy (Lyndsey) Burmeister; two grandchildren: Dylan and Owen; sister Marla Kay Roe; other relatives and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Ruth Euritt, brothers-in-law Dan Roe and Jon Burmeister, sisters-in-law Janet (Burmeister) Hillstrand-Gos and Sally Jo (Ashelford) Burmeister.
