Darin Adams, 51, of Creston died Monday, April 26, 2021, at EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston. Open visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021, with family receiving friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave. in Creston. Celebration of Life services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home. Pastor Paul Vandevender will officiate.
Masks are optional and social distancing will be encouraged. The service will be livestreamed on Powers Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the family to be determined later. Online condolences may be made at www.powersfh.com.
Darin Lee Adams, son of Raymond “Jack” Nelson Adams and Kathryn Ann (McFee) Adams was born Oct. 3, 1969, in Creston. He was educated in the Creston Community Schools and graduated with the class of 1989. He was employed with McDonalds.
On Sept. 16, 1995, Darin was united in marriage to Cindy Yvonne Arms, at Afton United Methodist Church in Afton. This union was blessed with two children, Noah and Allison. They settled in Creston where Darin was employed with Ferrara at Gummy Bear as well as working at Wal-Mart, both in Creston. He most recently was employed with Cardinal Glass as a machine operator.
Darin is survived by his wife, Cindy Adams of Creston; two children Noah and Allison; his faithful companion Bandit; parents Jack and Kathryn Adams of Creston; father-in-law Jack (Cheryl) Arms of Mesa, Arizona; mother-in-law Betty (Kevin) Herzberg of Grand River; three brothers: Dana Adams of Creston, Michael Adams of Lawrence, Kansas and twin brother David (Danielle) Adams of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; brother-in-law Jack (Kris) Arms of Bedford; sisters-in-law Kayla Gaunt of Creston and Tami (Lannie) Schafroth of Ankeny; nephews: Dmitri Adams of Lawrence, Kansas, Cory (Lindsay) Gaunt of Creston, Nathan Gaunt of Grand Forks, North Dakota, Jamie Gaunt (Allie Drew) of Fort Dodge, Lucas (Brittani) Schafroth of Des Moines and Evan Schafroth of Ankeny; nieces: Lena Adams of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, Ashley Riley (Tony Stach) of North Omaha, Nebraska, Amber Davison (Jacob Meinking) of Ames and Alaina Schafroth of Corning; many great-nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
Darin was preceded in death by his grandparents: Hugh and Esther McFee, Dick and Aletha Adams; aunts: Karen Miller, Mary Sevier and Ellen ‘Aunt Pete’ Von Stein; uncles Robert (Carol) McFee and John McFee.
