Mary Hogue, 85, of Prescott entered eternal rest Sunday, April 18, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family. Open Visitation with family receiving friends will be 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Pearson Family Funeral Service and Cremation Center, 809 W. Montgomery St. in Creston. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, April 23, 2021, at Trinity Christian Church — Disciples of Christ, located at 110 N.W. 2nd St. in Bridgewater. Pastor David Clark will officiate.

Mary will be laid to rest in North Fairview Cemetery in Lenox 2:30 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be directed to EveryStep Hospice in Creston. Mary JoAnn Hogue was born in Hannibal, Missouri, Sept. 13, 1935, the daughter of John Samuel and Helen Erlene (Richards) Utterback. As a young girl, Mary’s family moved to Iowa and she attended elementary and middle school in Independence. Mary graduated with the Class of 1954 from Independence High School.

On Oct. 2, 1975, Mary was united in marriage to Lewis Byron Hogue in Creston. Together, the couple combined families and raised eight children. Mary was a homemaker and housewife, always providing for her family. Mary was a member of Trinity Christian Church – Disciples of Christ — in Bridgewater, where her and Lewis attended regularly.

Mary is survived by her loving husband, Lewis Hogue of Prescott; children: Craig Todd of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kevin (Lauri) Todd of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Erin Hulse of Prescott, Danielle Hodge of Plattsmouth, Nebraska, Lewis “Skeeter” Hogue Jr. of Exira, Scott Hogue (significant other Angel) of Audubon, Colina (James) Haller of Wapello and Danny “Bill” Hogue of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 18 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren.

Mary will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Preceding Mary in death were her parents; her identical twin sister, Marie Hatfield; her brother, Jim Utterback; and a granddaughter, Jamie Jo Hogue.
