Lincoln Jackson, 69, of Creston died April 16, 2021, at his home after a short battle with cancer. No public services will be held. Private services will be held at a later date. Powers Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Lincoln Wayne Jackson was born Sept. 21, 1951, in Red Oak, to Virginia and Wayne Jackson. At the age of 8, the family moved to a farm in Union County and set up a farming operation that continues today. He graduated from Creston High School in 1969.
When Lincoln was in high school he started working in his father’s commodities brokerage, Linc Futures, in Creston. After one year at Iowa State, he decided to make that his career, along with farming. Linc Futures continually served clients until the office closed in March 2021.
Lincoln entered the U.S. Army National Guard in 1970, serving six years. In 1972, Lincoln was united in marriage to Mary Daughton. Three daughters were born to this union: Amy, Audra and Abigail. “The girls” were one of the greatest joys of his life.
In 1991, Lincoln was united in marriage to Janet Sickels and gained three more children: Vicki, Joni and John.
Lincoln managed The Jackson Management Company that owned and operated HUD housing complexes in Austin and New Ulm, Minnesota, Red Oak, Mason City and Clarinda, for over 30 years.
Lincoln was larger than life and lit up every room he was in with his beautiful smile and great laugh. He is well known for the boundless love he had for his family, his generosity and his love of the outdoors. Some of his happiest times were spent at Steamboat Lake in Minnesota.
Survivors include his wife, Janet Jackson; Three daughters: Amy (Joe) West of Omaha, Audra Winn and Abigail Jackson, all of Omaha, Nebraska; three stepchildren: Vicki (Scott) Osland of Coralville, Joni (David) Kirk of Scottsdale, Arizona and John (Melissa) Sickels of Creston; siblings: Lindsay (Rob) McDowell of Peru, Hartford (Jeanie) Jackson of Creston and Lacey (Mike) Richardson of Creston; seven grandchildren: Zach Schuler, Emily Ergenbright, Brennan Merley, Jami, Josie and Molly Sickels and Wesley Winn; one great-grandchild Vara Schuler, as well as numerous friends and relatives whose lives he touched in a positive way.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his son in law Bill Winn and his nephew Nathaniel Jackson.
