Ivan Eugene White was born Sept. 1, 1949, the son of Fred “Fussy” White and Hazel (Van Winkle) White. Ivan was born in Conway, in the same home his father had been born in. He grew up in Conway and attended grade school and middle school in Conway and Gravity, graduating from the Bedford High School with the Class of 1967.

Ivan spoke of many fun times riding bikes and having fun with his best friend, Ralph Eppers. Entering his teen years, he took pride mowing yards in Conway. He often said “mowed about every yard in town.”

In 1968, he married his soulmate, Violet Peppmeier of Corning, then made their home in Lenox where he lived his entire life. Born to this union were three daughters: Jennifer Lynn in 1969, Valerie June in 1972 and Patricia Dawn in 1974.

Ivan worked at the following jobs; starting with Totes in Lenox, Vanmark Corporation in Creston, the Pier in Creston, then finally retiring from Trolli Candy Company in 2014. Of these jobs, he enjoyed working the Pier the most because of his love for tropical fish.

Through the years, his hobbies included coin and card collecting, fishing, playing pool and watching all sports. His favorite past-time was spending time with his family. Ivan took a lot of pride in his sports memorabilia and coin collections. He love to share and show them off to family and friends.

Ivan is survived by his lifelong soulmate, Vi White; their children: Jennifer (Cecil) Richardson, Valerie Miller, Patricia (Jeremy) Houck; nine grandkids; three great-grandkids; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Preceding Ivan in death are his parents, Fred and Hazel White of Conway; two brothers, Danny White of Fallon, Nevada and Virgil White of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Marge Martin of Creston and Penny (Gaylon) Combs of Mount Ayr; brother, Richard David at infancy; two nephews and one niece.

“Go rest high on that mountain” Ivan, God is waiting.
