Ronald “Ronnie” Eblen, 85, of Creston passed away Friday, March 12, 2021, at EveryStep Greater Regional Hospice House in Creston. Open visitation with family receiving friends will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., following with a Celebration of Life service at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at Powers Funeral Home in Creston. Pastor Mary O’Riley will officiate the service.

Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Creston. Memorials are to be determined. Online condolences can be given at www.powersfh.com.

Ronald Lee Eblen, son of Roland Lewis Eblen and Thelma Leola (Boehme) Eblen, was born Sept. 11, 1935, on their family farm in rural Lyman. He graduated from Cromwell High School with the class of 1954.

On June 3, 1956, Ronnie married Bonnie Lee Pettet at the Methodist Church in Creston. This union was blessed with two daughters: Kathy and Ronda.

While residing in Creston, Ronnie began working at the Coca Cola plant. Then after several years, Ronnie along with his brothers, Arnold and Donnie and his cousin Merritt, established Eblen Construction and operated for many years. Ronnie helped on the family farm all of his life and after leaving Eblen Construction, went to just farming. His love for big machinery continued when he later started trucking and hauling a variety of things as well as anhydrous for Green Valley Chemical. Ronnie retired in 2010.

Ronnie was a member of the Creston Eagles Club, National Wild Turkey Foundation, Coyote Hunting Association, National Rifle Association as well as numerous truck pulling associations, actively with Tri-State Truck Pulling Association.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Eblen of Creston; two daughters: Kathy Eblen of Creston, Ronda (Kirby) Berry of Creston; three grandchildren: Emmy (Larry) Key of Creston, Kelsey (Keenan) Reese of Creston and Connor Eblen of Creston; four great-grandchildren: Keaton Street, Kaden Street, Colt Key and Bennett Reese, all of Creston; his brother Donnie (Carolyn) Eblen of Creston and many nieces and nephews.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Arnold Eblen and Jerry Eblen, two nephews Greg Eblen and Kevin Eblen.
