Bruce W. Sevier, 62, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021. Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2021, with services following at 2:30 p.m. at Shannon Rufe Snow Funeral Chapel, 6001 Rufe Snow Drive, Ft. Worth, Texas.
Burial will follow in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville, Texas.
Bruce was born August 8, 1958, in Creston. He attended Creston High School in Creston and graduated in 1977. He then went on to further his education at Southwestern Community College in Creston.
Bruce was a member of Creston High School and SWCC basketball teams, where he formed lifelong friendships.
After Bruce graduated from college, he started his career with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, where he worked for over 40 years.
Bruce loved the outdoors, hunting and spending time with his family. He was a very social and outgoing person. Bruce had a heart of gold. He would help any neighbor with anything at any time and was someone you could talk to about anything, get advice from and just be a shoulder to lean on.
But most of all, he had all the love in the world for his grandchildren. He would never miss a sports game, he would attend all their school functions and go out of his way to be with those kids no matter what. From taking them lunch at school to being their home school teacher, he made it his goal to be present in their lives for every moment.
Bruce touched a lot of lives and will be greatly missed by all. We know his caring heart will continue to watch over us all.
Bruce is survived by his spouse, Kim Sevier of Fort Worth, Texas; children Brianna Sevier Contreras (Matthew) Contreras; step-son Travis Woods of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren: Chase Woods, Taylor Woods, Peyton Woods, Blakelyn Contreras and Maddyx Contreras, all of Fort Worth, Texas; siblings: Pat Sevier, Tom and Connie Sevier, Theresa Sevier and Colleen Beatty, all of Creston; nieces: Emily Sevier, Deborah Geis, Elizabeth Peitzman, Tiffany Jensen and Jessica Beatty; nephews: Matt Sevier, Josh Sevier, Blake Sevier and William Sevier.
He was preceded in death by his son, Casey Sevier; parents Eugene and Beatty Sevier, sisters Susie Sevier and Shelly Sevier.
