Robert Glenn Herzog, 72, of Bethany, Missouri, passed away Monday, March 8, 2021, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron, Missouri.

Memorial Services with Military Rites will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2021, at United Methodist Church in Bethany, Missouri, under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church where social distancing will be observed and masks are recommended.

Bob has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home in Bethany, Missouri. Inurnment in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, will be held at a later date.

Robert Herzog was born Sept. 16, 1948, in Creston, the son of William Glenn and Nellie (Mikkelsen) Herzog.

On July 13, 1969, he married Verna Phillips in Corning. She survives of the home.

Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of VFW Post No. 2176. He was also a member of the United Methodist Church in Bethany, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Vern and Muriel Phillips; brothers-in-law, Larry Young and Bob Thiem and nephew, Curtis Reames.

In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by his son, Ryan “Spud” Herzog (Mairnee Manring) of Darlington, Missouri; daughter, Stacie Herzog (Steven Griffin) of Kansas City, Missouri; grandson, Saxton Griffin; four sisters: Pat (Gary) Dwyer, Sandy (Phil) Johnson, Linda Young and Kathy Thiem; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
