Susan Seals

Susan Seals, 72, of Creston died Jan. 10, 2021, at EveryStep Hospice House in Creston. Private graveside services will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Celebration of Life services will be held at a later date.

Susan Frances Seals, the daughter of Arthur Bruce and Barbara Berniece (Sheets) Seals was born April 8, 1948, in Topeka, Kansas. When Susan was a young girl, the family moved to California and Susan graduated from San Diego High School in 1969. She attended college for one year, earning a medical receptionist certificate.

In 1987, Susan met the love of her life, Jon B. Selim in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, while Jon was working for an underground cable company. Susan and Jon moved to Creston in 1989 and Jon preceded Susan in death in 2019.

Susan was an avid reader and loved all of God’s creatures. Her heart was always with the Lord Jesus Christ, her Savior. Susan worked 21 years for Bunn-O-Matic, retiring in 2000. She was a long-time member of the Creston Eagles Lodge.

Susan is survived by her very close friends: Deb McDonald and family, Jerry Jones, Mitzie Callan, Patty Bolinger and family, Karen Walter and family; Jon’s two sisters: Nancy Selim Wantland and Sue Selim Kile; Bob Cottrell and friends of the Iowana.

Susan was preceded in death by the love of her life, Jon Selim and Jon’s mother, Ellen Selim in 2011.
