Joe Conley, 44, of Creston died Monday, Dec. 21, 2020, in Creston. A Celebration of Life service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2020, at Powers Funeral Home, 601 New York Ave. in Creston. Pastor Tony Thurston will officiate. Masks and social distancing will be mandatory. The service will be livestreamed on the Powers Funeral Home Facebook Page.

Joseph Lee Conley, son of Richard C. Conley and Peggy Ann (Waddell) Conley, was born Dec. 9, 1976, in Creston. He graduated from Creston High School in 1995. Joe worked at McDonald’s restaurant through high school.
On Oct. 12, 2003, Joe married Crystal A. Ford in Creston. They settled, lived and worked in Creston. Joe worked at Ferrara Candy Company, Trolli, also known locally as “the Gummi Bear” factory, where he met her. He later went on to work at Fansteel/Wellman’s Dynamics. He also worked at Precision Pulley in Corning, Cardinal Glass in Greenfield, returning to work at Gummi Bear in Creston. He worked in the kitchen and supervised while working there. His most recent work was with Dalton Ag of Lenox as a shipping and handling supervisor.
Joe enjoyed working with remote cars. He also loved the Chicago Bears and Cubs, the Iowa Hawkeyes, boxing, camping, fishing, the great outdoors and especially his family. Joe had been a part of the Pine Valley Bowling League and enjoyed memberships at Pine Valley, Lake Shore Golf and Country Club and the Lenox Golf Course.
Survivors include his daughter, Maranda Ford of Tempe, Arizona; two sons, Jade Lee Conley and Payton Jacob Conley, both of Creston; his mother, Peggy Erskine of Creston; his former wife, Crystal Conley of Creston; two sisters, Marcy (Troy) Donner and Torri (Jason) Kuonen, all of Creston; stepsister Sara (Terry) Bickford of Shannon City; best friend/brother, Woody (Mindy) Darland of Creston; eight nieces and nephews: Cody Cotterell, Kelsey and Emily Donner, Kaleb, Jordan and Macaela Kuonen, Cooper Sterling and Hunter Bickford; and many other extended relatives.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father Richard “Sonny” Conley, step-father Chuck Erskine, and a special friend Anthony Darland.
