Creston Police report - Jan. 8, 2025

Isaac W. Hayes, 26, of Creston, was taken into custody 9 p.m. Jan. 7, on Grand Avenue on a Union County warrant for the charge of failure to appear on the original charge of violation of a no contact or protective order. Hayes was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with official acts and violation of a no contact or protective order.

According to a Union County District Court document, Hayes was ordered to appear Jan. 7 for a pretrial hearing on the original charge and did not.

According to a Creston Police report, at approximately 8:53 p.m. officers went to Hayes’ residence to do a warrant check. While outside of the residence they could hear Hayes and a female arguing. After officers knocked on the door, Hayes began arguing with them through the door and stated he wasn’t going to come out and gave officers the middle finger through the window. Hayes opened the door and attempted to slam it on one of the officers. Officers then went hands-on with Hayes, who was resisting arrest.

Inside of the residence was a protected party in a protective order against Hayes. Officers also observed THC vape cartridges in plain view in the residence. When asked about any other drugs or paraphernalia being in the residence, a resident provided officers with a marijuana grinder, scale, bong and pipe, all of which contained marijuana residue. All of the items were said to belong to Hayes.

Hayes was transported to Union County Jail and held on $300 cash only bond for the warrant and no bond until seen by the judge on the new charges.
