Creston Rotary learns more about Crush Cancer

Funds raised at Creston's Crush Cancer in Every Color benefit the Greater Regional Cancer & Infusion Center.

Megan Howard representing Crush Cancer was the guest for Creston Rotary on Monday, Nov. 4. The annual event held the first Saturday in August at McKinley Park is a fundraiser for Greater Regional Health’s cancer treatment department.

Creston had been a site for a Relay For Life event, a national organization that also benefits cancer patients and services. Changes within its organization influenced a number of Creston people to organize its own event instead.

Crush Cancer activities include disc golf, a vendor fair, car show, dunk tank, bags tournament and a run.

The Crush Cancer this year generated about $22,000. Crush Cancer also uses funds for cancer patients and their transportation needs. The Crush Cancer board usually meets monthly. More information can be found on its Facebook page; Creston’s Crush Cancer in Every Color.
