Mount Ayr man to be inducted into auto race hall of fame

The Iowa Hall of Fame is honored to announce the 2024 Hall of Fame Class that will be inducted into the Iowa Hall of Fame during the 6th Annual Induction Ceremony in November.

The 2024 Inductees include Harald “Andy” Anderson of Duncombe, Jeff Broeg of Mount Pleasant, Rick Brown of Kellogg, Dave Chase of Bellevue, Nebraska, Doug Haack of Clinton, Ron Hutcherson, Steve Jackson of Des Moines, Bill Kirk, Karla Lampe of Fair Grove, Missouri, Lynn Richard of Mount Pleasant, Hilbert Schram of Amarillo, Texas, Jerry Smith, Randy Smith of Mount Ayr and Dale Suhr of Waterloo.

These individuals represent drivers, owners, builders, car sponsors, promoters, motorcycle and drag racers and are well known in the racing community.

The 2024 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held Saturday, Nov. 2 at the Briggs Woods Conference Center in Webster City. Social hour will begin at 5 p.m. followed by dinner and the program. This event is open to the public and advance tickets are required. Tickets may be purchased through the Iowa Hall of Fame and Racing Museum website or by contacting Teresa Huffman at 515-835-2620.

The Iowa Hall of Fame and Racing Museum will be moving to a new building located at the Kossuth County Ag & Motorsports Museum in Algona. Interior work is being completed and our Otho location is closed because of preparing for the move. This new location will allow both museums to give race fans access to a collection of Iowa racing memorabilia and historical archives. A grand opening date will be announced at a later date.
