State Farm introduces new Creston agent

Madison Peterson, who grew up in Creston, returns to help the community who raised her.

A simple banner hangs over the front entrance of State Farm’s new Creston location, a small suite in a business complex on the south side of Highway 34. No street signs have been placed to catch the eye of commuters.

Despite this, the new State Farm office prioritized helping the community of Creston above all else, settling in Aug. 1. The location is managed by new agent Madison Peterson, who was raised in Creston. Her reasoning to return is simple: this is her community.

“I’m originally from Creston, I was born and raised here,” she said. “I’m extremely excited to give back to the community I grew up in. I know Creston, and I know people in this town. I want to be known as the person that helps when people need it most.”

The first week of business dove right in to helping people while also adjusting to a new location and a new team of people. Peterson said this is the first step in being a good neighbor.

“I’m trying to help as many customers as I can, quickly,” she said. “That’s my big focus, community and customers, taking care of our people.”

Giving back to the community that raised her is an important part of how Peterson sees her job, saying she wants to help give back and inspire generations who want to return to Creston.

State Farm as a company started over 100 years ago in rural Illinois, making the connection and understanding of rural communities built into the structure of the company, something that helped drive Peterson to work for them.

“They want to be the company people go to in all aspects of life,” she said. “Whether it’s rural, urban, anywhere, they want to be able to help those customers.”

Those interested in insurance coverage can call Peterson at (641) 782-8549, or stop by the new location at 600 West Taylor St. Suite B.

“Come stop by, see the new office, I’m always happy to meet new people,” she said.
