Party in the Park, comedy night discussed

Bands and a comedian have been chosen for the 2024 Creston Park and Recreation fundraising events.

Members of the park and rec board met Tuesday night to discuss next year’s fundraising events. The annual comedy night is scheduled for February 10, with comedian Dante Powell performing. Powell is a recent Creston transplant.

A number of bands were suggested for Party in the Park, but board members settled on local Roger Hulett and the i-Berry’s Band and country musician SJ McDonald. The bands have not officially accepted yet. Board members were passionate last year about featuring local artists, and though weather halted that plan, Roger Hulett and the i-Berry’s Band will provide an opportunity to see a local band.

The board received notice from a concerned citizen regarding reckless driving on the west part of Spillway Road. While the options of cameras and speed bumps were discussed, the board decided not to take action.
