Creston Community High School will conduct its annual graduation ceremony 2 p.m. Sunday, May 23. One hundred seventeen graduates are expected to walk across the stage in their caps and gowns to receive their diplomas.
This year, Creston High School is planning to hold the graduation ceremony outside in Panther Stadium, weather permitting. In the event of rain, the ceremony will take place in the gym.
Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. Graduates need to arrive by 1 p.m. and report for line up. Seniors will proceed into the stadium or gym at 1:55 p.m. in order to begin the ceremony promptly at 2 p.m. Bleacher seating will be available for all guests and the general public.
Designated lawn chair seating will be available on either side of the stage on a first come, first serve basis. CCSD outdoor event COVID-19 public health protocols will be in place. Face coverings are recommended and all to socially distance whenever and wherever possible.
Administrators, school counselors and board members will present the awards and diplomas. Student speakers this year will be Braelyn Baker, Brance Baker, Evan Bruce, Rylie Driskell, Samantha Dunphy, Clayton Stafford and Garon Wurster.
Valedictorians, salutatorians and others receiving honors will have their pictures taken, location pending the location of ceremony, directly following the graduation ceremony.
Seniors will have graduation practice 10:30 a.m. May 21 and will conclude with lunch sponsored by the Creston Booster Club. Immediately prior to the graduation practice at 9:45 a.m., graduates will wear their caps and gowns and march through the Elementary/Middle School to celebrate with the first through eighth grade students and faculty.
