GIRLS HOOPS: Eisbach gets all-region honor

Postseason awards for winter continue to come in

The postseason honors continue rolling in for Nodaway Valley junior guard Izzy Eisbach. Eisbach was recently named to the Class 2A Region 7 team honoring the best players from the postseason out of their respective Regions.

Other selections were Lynnae Green of Shenandoah, Taryn Petersen of Exira-EHK, Trista Olhmeier, Makynlee Tockey and Regan Seuntjens of MVAOCOU and Nora Konz of Treynor.

Eisbach was one of two juniors picked on the seven-person team. She scored 24 points in a 72-55 loss to Shenandoah in the regional quarterfinals, with eight rebounds, four assists and two steals. In nine region games, her point total was second-highest, behind Exira-EHK sophomore Taryn Petersen’s 27.

Treynor beat Exira-EHK 45-44 in the Region 7 Final to win the region and advance to the state tournament.

Teams in the 2A Region 7 bracket were AHSTW, West Monona, Logan-Magnolia, Tri-Center, MVAOCOU, Exira-EHK, Underwood, Treynor, Shenandoah and Nodaway Valley.
