Adair County Health System welcomes new mental health provider

Johanna Hesseltine

Adair County Health System is excited to welcome Johanna Hesseltine, ARNP, PMHNP-BC, to offer mental health services to our community. Johanna is a board-certified psychiatric mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She will play a pivotal role in expanding and enhancing the hospital’s mental health services to meet the growing needs of our community.

Johanna received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Grand View University. She continued her education through Walden University receiving her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She holds a National Board Certification in Psychiatry with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). With over 10 years of nursing experience Johanna has dedicated her career to patient-centered care. She sees children and adults, emphasizing collaboration with the patient to find the best treatment approaches to fit each client and their specific needs.

Starting February 7, 2025, Johanna will begin seeing children and adults throughout their lifespan, ages 6 and up. She treats a wide array of mental health conditions. Treatment plans are patient-specific and may include lab work, medication prescriptions, lifestyle modifications, and referrals for additional testing, as well as psychotherapy.
