Raffle items needed for fundraiser to benefit fire department

A guitar autographed by country music artist Vince Gill is one of the big ticket items on a raffle for the Sept. 29 event "Greenfield Strong: Still Rockin' After the Storm Benefit Concert N' Raffle."

Warren Cultural Center board member Thaddeus Hawley is seeking raffle items for an outdoor event he’s having at noon Sunday, Sept. 29 to benefit the Greenfield Volunteer Fire Department. It is the “Greenfield Strong: Still Rockin’ After the Storm Benefit Concert ‘N Raffle.”

The event, which is a joint effort between the Iowa Rock ‘n Roll Music Association and the Warren Cultural Center, will funnel all proceeds through the Greater Greenfield Community Foundation to be earmarked specifically for the fire department. The free-will donation concert will feature headlining act Hector Anchondo, who was the 2020 International Blues Artist of the Year, Jason Reed and others.

A few big ticket raffle items already donated are an electric guitar autographed by country artist Vince Gill and merchandise signed by Iowa Americana artist William Elliot Whitmore.

Hawley said there are all sorts of items that have already been donated by local indivduals or businesses, but more is welcome. Businesses, organizations or indivduals willing to donate items to the raffle may contact Hawley at 641-221-1028 for more information.
